AWS S3 vs Traditional File Hosting

S3 offers scalable, pay-as-you-go object storage, while traditional hosts provide fixed storage with simpler interfaces. How do costs for storage compare for moderate file usage? Is S3 worth for small projects that might not need a big storage, or is traditional hosting sufficient for simplicity?

I suspect it's not worth it. Well, even assuming the same model worked for smaller sites, I suspect AWS doesn't want smaller sites because it's unprofitable for them.
